How To Make A Video Using Animoto

Today I am going to show you how to make a 30 second video using Animoto. If you have never heard of Animoto before or think it might be too complicated for you to make your own videos. Read on to find out how simple it is.

What is Animoto?

This is a free service where you can make as many 30 second videos as you want and upload them straight to You Tube. If you want to make longer videos you can upgrade to plus which only costs $30 a year or you can opt for $5 a month. There is also a pro version that will cost you $249 a year or $39 a month. Today we will concentrate on the free version.

Where Do I Start?

Here is a step by step video of everything described below.

Go to www.animoto.com and register for your free account. Log in and press the create video button located at the top right hand side of the page.

You are then given a choice of styles for your video, click on all styles and you will see over 20 different styles you can use for your video. I am going to use the animoto original style for my video.

A box will pop up and if you look at the right hand side you will see a link that says or make a 30-second video for free. Click on this and you are taken to a page where you can start creating your video.

You can choose the music for your video from animoto’s library or upload your own. I will choose one from the library. Click on full music library and you can listen to each piece of music by hovering over a title and clicking the play button that appears. Once you find a piece of music you like click the add song button on the bottom right hand side.

You are now ready to add your photos or videos. Click the add pics& vids button, you then have the option of uploading your photos from your computer, facebook or other photo services such as photobucket.

For a 30 second video I usually use about 4 photo’s and 4 pieces of text. Once you have chosen your pictures you then need to add your text. Click on the add text button, you then write a header. You only have 22 characters for your header and 30 characters for your text, the text will appear underneath your header in the video. Once you have made about 4 of these text boxes you can then reorder them on where you want them to appear in the video.

You just right click on the image and drag it to where you want it to appear. Once you have got everything in place and how you want it you are now ready to produce your video. Click the produce video button and on the next page you will see that your video is being composed and produced. This will take a couple of minutes.

You will be asked if you want to share your video with your friends on facebook, but we want to upload our video to you tube, don’t we? So go to sharing on the right hand side and in the drop down menu you will see export video.

Click on this and you will be given the option to export your video to you tube or smugmug just click on the begin export button and that’s it. You have successfully created a video and uploaded it to you tube. Go to your you tube account and you will see your video is on there and you can edit it there, maybe change the title add your website or blog url underneath your video.

What is social bookmarking and what can it do for your business? This article is a follow up to my recent post about duplicate content. Please read that post first before reading this post about social bookmarking.

What is Social Bookmarking?

Social Bookmarking is a way of letting google know you have created something. It may be an article, blog post or a video you have created. By submitting the link to your creation on sites such as Digg, Stumbleupon, Delicious etc… you are leveraging the popularity of these sites.

We will take Digg.com as our example here. Let’s go and add the link to our content. First off if you haven’t already done so join up to Digg to become a member. Once you have done that click the submit link button at the top of the page. Add your link and that’s it your link will then be displayed on Digg for everyone to see and comment on.

You can then go to the other social bookmarking sites and do the same and your content will soon be seen all over the internet. But if this seems a bit time consuming to you, what If I told you about a way to post to all these sites at a click of a button. Wouldn’t that be better?

Save Time With Onlywire.

I am talking about a site called Onlywire have you heard of it? If you haven’t it is about time you checked it out to see what it can do for you. You can upload your link to over 30 social bookmarking sites all at once. It takes a bit of work when you join. This is because you will have to join all the sites you want to post to. The good thing though is you only have to do this once and that’s it.

Once you have joined all the other sites you add your details to your onlywire account. You then download an app called bookmark and share from the onlywire site. From then on when you want to share your content you just press a button and it will go to all these sites. How cool is that? Onlywire is free to join and you are allowed 300 submissions a month, but remember each time you post to these sites that counts as one submission. So if you are posting to 30 at a time that counts as 30 of your submissions.

There is also a paid version of Onlywire for people who are posting often and reach their 300 limit pretty quickly. It’s also for marketers who want to take their content syndication to the next level as you can integrate your Onlywire account with a site called Tribe Pro. Duplicate Content

Today I am going to cover the subject of duplicate content. It is a subject that confuses a lot of people and nobody seems to explain it anywhere. Read this article and I hope I can clear up the confusion for you.

Duplicate content what does it mean?

I watched a couple of videos this morning on this very subject. So thanks to Chris Farrell for the information. Duplicate content is hugely misunderstood. Most people believe that when they create an article for their blog or website that they cannot then use the same article in say an article directory or somewhere else online.

That is simply not true, they believe that google will only list one result for the same article, wrong. If you do a search for a paragraph of an article in google you will see how many people have used the exact same article on their sites but google still lists them. So therefore this is not duplicate content.

What is duplicate content then?

Now that what we know what isn’t duplicate content, I will now explain what it is. It is when you have the same content on the same website, it may be a different page of the site but it is still the same website. Why would people do this, well people where trying to fool google into thinking their site was bigger than it actually was, hoping to get ranked higher in the search engines. But google soon got wise to this and therefore penalised people for using duplicate content on the same site.

Now you know what duplicate content is I will give you an example of what you could do with your article. We will take the following article as an example. I posted this article on my blog yesterday about article marketing, so the url is http://workwithfrankbow.com/article-marketing-strategies/

Now if I then go to an article directory say article base and upload my article it would appear as
articlebase.com/articlemarketingstrategies.

I may then go to blogger.com and upload it their and it would appear as blogger.com/articlemarketingstrategies

Then say I go to squidoo and make a lens using the same article it would look like squidoo.com/articlemarketingstrategies

So as you see google would then judge these as different articles and not duplicate content even though it is exactly the same article.

I hope this has made it clear for you what you can and can’t do regarding the content you create. I wrote this article before I got round to writing one on social bookmarking. As it was vital that you understood what duplicate content was before I broached that subject. Look out for that article tomorrow.

Article Marketing Strategies

Today I am going to talk about article marketing strategies. If you are looking to get your articles on page one of google you will need some article marketing strategies in place.

First off you will have to search for a low competition keyword to use in your article. Here is an article I have done previously on how to find your low competition keywords. Once you have written your keyword rich article ( use your keyword about 1 in every 100 words) it’s time to get your article published.

Go to ezinearticles.com and submit your article. It will take a few days while they review your article, when it has been accepted copy the url as you will need it to create backlinks to your article.

Now you want to go to onlywire, if you have not heard of onlywire before it is a site that enables you to submit your content to over 30 social bookmarking sites at the push of a button. This will take you a while when you first join onlywire as you also have to join all the social bookmarking sites in order to submit to them. You will only need to do this once though so it is worth the effort.

Once you have set up all the sites inside onlywire you need to download an app from there called bookmark and share. This enables you to press a button on your toolbar and you are able to submit to all the sites at the click off a button.

Next go to facebook and join 10-15 groups in your niche. You then take the url from your ezine article and post it into these groups. This gets you a backlink from facebook to your article. It also gets you more traffic as people click on your link to read your article.

Now go to twitter and do the same just tweet your articles url. This is another strong backlink to your article. Using the above article marketing strategies has resulted in 35 links back to your article in 10 minutes. This will help your article to get listed higher in the google rankings.

Resize Images: Before Uploading To Your Site

Often the simple things cause people to have the most problems, how to resize images for example. In this blog post I am going to explain why you need to resize images and how to do it simply using a free tool.

Why Resize Images?

The reason you need to resize images before uploading is simple. They will be too big and therefore make your website load slower in peoples browsers, and more than likely people will click off your site before it is open. What do you do when a site is taking ages to load, yes click off it.

Most people upload their image without checking the size and then make it smaller on their site by dragging the corner and making the image smaller to fit onto their page. This looks fine but all they have done is changed the dimensions of the image not the actual size of the file. So what we have to do is resize the images before we upload them.

How Do I Resize Images?

I am going to introduce you to a free tool to help you resize images that are too big. First off you need to find out the file size of your image. Right click on the image and click properties at the bottom. You will be able to see the size of your image. You will probably find it is over 1 megabyte which is far too big. The image I am using in the video below is actually 2.75MB which is massive. Using this free tool you are going to be able to reduce the size of the image to 25 -35 kilobytes as opposed to over 2750 kilobytes in my original image.

The tool I am using is called Irfanview, a strange name I know but you can download it for free at http://www.irfanview.com . Once you have downloaded Irfanview double click to open it up. Here is a video that will take you through the process of resizing your image.


As you can see using this free tool will make a big difference to the size of the images you are uploading to your websites or blogs. So now you know you will not be slowing your site down with the images you upload.

Niche market research is a time consuming but vital process that every marketer has to go through. But if you know where to look for a niche market to work in it can save you hours of searching. Here are some tips that can save you those hours. Read on.

Dummies.com

The first place you should look is a site called dummies.com. You must have seen all those dummies books on a huge variety of subjects. Dummies have been making these books for over 20 years now so there must be a market for them. Do you think they would go to the trouble of making a book on any given subject if it was not going to make them money? No, they are in the business to sell books so have done their research to find niche markets where people are spending money for information.
Not a lot of marketers would think of checking out the dummies website for possible niches so you are ahead of the majority with this information.

Magazines.com

Next have a look at magazines.com. This is one site few people will have heard of as a possible place to find a niche market. The principle is the same as dummies, would they take the time to publish these magazines if their wasn’t a market for it?

On this site you will find thousands of possible profitable niches for you to enter. Browse through the different categories and you will be amazed at how spoiled for choice you are.

Amazon.com

Go to Amazon.com and go to the books section. Type in your niche again and you will see a list of the top selling books in that niche. If there are a lot of books that are selling well you have found a niche you can make money in.

Another little tip. Once you have decided on a niche you may want to write articles or blog posts on the subject. If you want a catchy title for you article or post where better to look than on the front of these magazines or books. They are put there to catch the readers attention after all.

Forums

Forums are another good place to find a niche market. Go to google.com and type in the niche you are looking at. If you see that there are lots of forums in your chosen niche you know you are onto a winner and can make money in that niche.

How To Build Hubpages

Hubpages are a great way of getting ranked in google for your chosen keyword or phrase. Google seems to love hubpages and ranks them quickly. I have been on page 1 of google the following day using hubpages so they obviously work. Here are a few questions you may have before you make your first hubpage.

What Are Hubpages?

Hubpages or hubs as they are also known are web pages that you create and that rank very well with google who seem to love them. A hub is an original article written by you on a subject of your choice. You can write as many hubs as you like, on various topic. Your hubpages must contain useful content that catches your readers attention. You can also add text, pictures, videos and a host of other features to brighten up your hub.

How Do I Create a Hubpage?

First off you will need to create an account (don’t worry it doesn’t take long), once you have logged in click the link in the top right hand corner of the header.

Next you must choose a title for your hubpage, then choose a category. Now you look at the options to choose a starting layout, you then add tags that describes you hub.

You can now add your content capsules, you can add text, photos, videos etc. Fill these capsules with your content and when you are happy with the look of your hubpage click publish, that’s it. Watch a video that will take you through the process here.

How do I Choose a Title For My Hubpages?

Your hub is an individual article, your title should therefore be connected to the content of the hub. I would recommend that you use the keyword of your article in the title so a person searching for that keyword would find your hubpage and get the information they are looking for. For best results, use short, simple, to-the-point titles this will vastly increase the traffic to your hubs.

How Do I Make Money On Hubpages?

On hubpages you earn money through advertising and of course from affiliate commissions that you earn from the links you have added to your capsules.

When someone views one of your hubpages, there are ads displayed. You can generate revenue for yourself 60% of the time from these ads, and the other 40% of the time the ads makes revenue for hubpages.

Where do these ads come from? Well hubpages have their own ad program and some of the ads will be google adsense ads. There is also an option for you to sign up for the ebay and amazon programs so you can earn from products that you configure in your hubs.

Today I watched a webinar on content syndication. What does content syndication mean you may well ask? Read on to find out more.

Basically content syndication is where you get the piece of content you have created, be it an article or a video spread all over the internet so it is seen by as many eyes as possible. The more visitors to your content the better chances of you turning people into leads and leads into sales:)

What content syndication do most people usually do? They probably post a link on twitter and facebook and leave it at that. That will obviously get your article seen but what if you could multiply the amount of people seeing your content by 10 or even more. Would you be interested?

Have you heard of a site called Onlywire? This site enables you to post your content to over 50 social media sites at a click of a button. There are other sites similar to this like pixelpipe etc..
but today I am focusing on Onlywire for reasons that will become obvious later.

There is a bit of work needed here, you will need to set up an account at all these social media sites so you can add the details to your Onlywire account. You only have to do this once and that’s it. If this seems like too much work for you or you don’t have the time you can always outsource it. You will find people willing to do this for you on fiverr.com and it will cost you, yes $5.

You can now get your new content sent out to 50+ sites at the click of a button. That’s great but what if I told you that you can also get other people to do content syndication for you. That’s right they send a link to your content to all of their Onlywire accounts.

Why would they do that? Simple because you would do the same for them back. Lots of people doing this for each other is known as a tribe. You can now use the power of a tribe for your content syndication.

Tribe pro is the site I am talking about. This site enables you to have your Onlywire account plugged into it. Members can then auto syndicate each other so that each time you post a piece of content you are automatically syndicated to their networks. Say you had 50 people following you who had also auto syndicated you that is 50×50=2,500 times your link is sent to these various sites. How’s that for content syndication.

But it gets better, if you think it will take you too much time posting your new content to tribe pro every day. There is an auto submit section where you connect your blog to tribe pro so when you publish something on your blog it is automatically posted on tribe pro to be shared by everyone. Watch a video of how to do this here. This is content syndication on steroids.

Of course this part is not free but you are running a business. You can get the free version of tribe pro but you will have to do your own posting. Try out the free version and when you see how powerful it can be, upgrade. The same with Onlywire the free version only allows so many free posts( I think it is 300) but that will soon get used up if you are serious about your content syndication.

Today I going to show you some diy seo tips that I learned recently from training in the back office of empower network. Most people shy away from doing any SEO for themselves thinking it is too difficult. I will show you today that with some diy seo you can soon be ranking high in the search engines. Don’t pay for your seo Do It Yourself.

First off you will have to realise that you are not going to be able to take on the big boys on the big keywords like “what is seo” for example. Which when you search in google gives 5,720,000 results that is much too high to take on. No you need to do your “diy seo” correctly and target keywords that are less competitive.

What you need to look for is low competition keywords. Once you have chosen your keyword integrate it into your blog post. Make sure you don’t overdo the use of these keywords about once every 100 words should be fine. So if you write a 500 page post for example add your keyword 5 times.

Some More DIY Seo Tips

Another tip here is to highlight your keyword. Pick three of your keywords, bold one like this, also put another in italics and finally put your keyword in quotation marks “like this”. This let’s google know this is the keyword you are targetting.

You also need to know the best place to insert your keywords for ranking high in the search engines. First you must have the keyword in your blog post title, you must also put it in the first sentence of your post and finally make sure it is in the last sentence of your post.

Now we move onto something you may not have heard of before, putting your keyword in a H1,H2,H3 headline. Basically this is adding your keyword into a title 3 times during your post. The H1 headline goes at the top of your post, H2 somewhere in the middle and H3 at the bottom of your post. Look at this post you are reading to see what I mean.

Here is a quick video that shows you how to do all the things I mention above.

Also try and add a link to another relevant  post on your blog, like I have with low competition keywords above.

Finally before I forget You also want to add an image so you can add an ALT tag. See below.

Doing all of the above will help your posts get noticed by the search engines. This will result in higher search engine ranking for all your posts in the future.
