I watched a tutorial today of the importance of a business plan. Why do you need a business plan anyway you may ask? Good question and I hope to answer it for you in this article. Read on to find out more.

When you first started an online business you are probably like most people( myself included), jumping straight in trying to learn how to make money online. I soon found out you can’t run a business without being organized and you would be crazy to think you could. So if you get organized by making a business plan you are ready and set up for success.

What Plans Do I Need?

You need a clear plan to know what your goals are and how you are going to achieve these goals.

Here is what plans you need

A yearly plan – create a plan of where you want your business to be in a years time.

90 day plans – you now have a goal so you can break it down into 4×90 day plans on how you are going to work towards achieving this goal.

Monthly plan – break it down even further into a monthly plan, saying what you want to achieve that month.

Weekly plan – now break it down into a weekly plan of action.

Finally a daily plan of tasks you need to do to take your business forward.

Write these plans out on a piece of paper, write down what you are going to do tomorrow, today. So next day you can get straight to work giving priority to what you see as the most difficult task first and then working your way through each task you have written down until you have finished your to do list.

Another thing you should do is write a daily sheet of things you have done. After 30 days of writing notes down you can look back and see how far you have come. You will probably be amazed at what you have achieved. You can see what worked for you and what didn’t and this can help you create a short e-book to give people a path to follow your success so far.

As you can see a business plan is vitally important for any business. If you get up each morning and just think what will I do today for my business, you are likely to be easily distracted and get nothing done. On the other hand if you have written your to do list the day before you can focus on going through your list and doing things that will push your business forward. No wasting time reading emails or chatting on facebook just worthwhile tasks that will help you in the long run.

So I want you to get out your pen and paper and write down your business plan today. Tomorrow you can get started on really building your business with an end target to aim for.
