Low competition keywords

Today I am going to talk about “low competition keywords“. Search engine optimization (Seo) is a subject a lot of people try to avoid as there can be quite a bit of work involved. But using low competition keywords you can soon be ranking on page one of google.

Why low competition keywords?

Well, keywords are used to get you high ranking within google search engine results. This is why they are so important in article marketing. Choosing your keywords wisely will get you higher rankings on google and therefore more visitors to your site. Which is the whole purpose of your marketing. The idea is you will use low competition keywords for getting your articles, websites, blogs and videos to appear high in the search engine results page.

What is keyword research? It is looking for words that are going to be the most profitable for you in your business. It is also a way to find out the amount of competition you have for each word or phrase you have chosen.

What is a keyword? It’s what people type into google search. They can be more than one word which is a bit confusing. Usually if it 1-3 words long it is referred as a short tail keyword and if it is 4 or more it is known as a long tailed keyword. You will have more chance of making page one on google search if you target long tailed keywords. The competition is not so fierce.

How do you find low competition keywords?

Step 1: You use a keyword tool to discover how many searches there are for a particular keyword. Step 2: You then discover how much competition there is for your keyword by typing your chosen keyword into google.

Here is the golden rule, you are looking for words that get high amount of searches but a low amount of competition. With short tail keywords you will usually find very high competition. So you should concentrate on long tail for lower competition.

Go to google search and type in keyword tool. At the top of the results will be google adwords tool, click on this and you will taken to the adwords tool. Enter a word or words that are connected to your niche.

A list of results will appear, make sure the match type broad is selected on the top right hand side of the results. These results will give you a list of similar keywords as well as the one you typed in. Some of these may be better to use than the keyword you entered. You look through this list looking for words with a decent amount of global searches a month.

Pick one and go back to google search and enter the one you have chosen but put it in quotation marks for example “how do I build a website” doing this will mean you only get the results for people who have typed in that exact keyword.

You are looking for results under 60,000 to have any real chance of getting a high ranking with google search using your chosen keyword. Once your blog has gained more authority you will be able to target keywords with a bit more competition. But start low and watch the results.

So, it is time for you to go and do your own research on low competition keywords. Remember the golden rule, high amount of searches and low competition. Searches volume around 800 or more a month and competition less than 60,000. Don’t get hung up on it being 60,000 if it’s a bit more still try it, but I would not advise over 70,000 competitors at first. I hope this article has been helpful and answered any questions you had.
